Our City & Guilds accredited 10 Day Plumbing Courses are intense hands on training courses, designed to suit everyone wishing to learn how to carryout various plumbing tasks around the home  with confidence, and achieve a City & Guilds qualification which will contribute towards becoming a fully qualified plumber if you wish to advance into working in the plumbing trade .

The 6218 qualification skills attained include:

 Introducing rain water goods:

  • Drainage
  • Guttering

Introducing pipe work skills:

  • Copper pipes
  • Plastic pipes
  • Ceramic pipes
  • Old style pipes

Developing Pipe work Skills:

  • Soldering
  •  Bending & Jointing
  • Taps

Developing Skills in Fitted Interiors:

  • Bathroom Installations
  • Kitchen Installations

Expanding Pipe work Skills:

  • Pressure testing
  • Plumbing Systems
  • Valves

This course will also include:

Health & Safety information and current rules and regulations.

Mark out, remove damaged plaster, clean and prepare damaged area, mix and apply render, mix apply plaster to smooth finish. (Making Good)


Potential Students are not always in a position to dedicate long periods of time to training and so we have developed smaller and more affordable training programmes which can still provide successful candidates with basic competence and City & Guilds certification.

If you wish to stagger your courses ie: complete them over weekends then let us know, we can accomodate all individuals needs.

The City & Guilds certificate and portfolio obtained at the end of this training course will enhance your skills and is very useful if you are already working in a role which may require you from time to time to undertake plumbing tasks and repairs to various works.

During this 10 day accredited plumbing course you will receive training, be assessed and will be building a portfolio of photographic evidence, which is yours to keep and present to potential employers or customers.

Goldtrowel is open 7 days every week and we welcome visitors at all times. Please feel free to come along to view our facilities, meet the staff and students, you won't be dissapppointed.

As a dedicated Plastering Centre we will also introduce City and Guilds Unit 005 ( Repair damaged plaster ) known as Making Good. This is an ideal skill and Unit of achievement when making good areas that have been damaged.

We will also explain and demonstrate all the different plumbing materials used. Plumbing Tools and equipment will be fully supplied, explained and demonstrated
