Goldtrowel offers a fantastic opportunity for all those personnel wishing to gain their City & Guilds Qualification in Solid Plastering 6217 / 6218. The course is for 6 weeks, which are `hands on` and intense, during the course you will build your portfolio, which consists of 15 units (listed below) each unit of accreditation are assessed, you cover all 15 units at Goldtrowel because we believe as a plasterer you should be competent in all aspects of plastering, unlike other providers who only teach the 7 mandatory and 2 optional units, your City & Guilds certificate through Goldtrowel will list all 15 units achieved. Not only will all students achieve these units but you will also overboard ceilings,plaster complete barrel ceilings and curved walls.

You cannot expect to gain a City and Guilds plastering qualification in 2 weeks without having prior training.

Plastering Courses, City and Guilds, NVQ, Plastering Course information

Please Note:

If you are on a 5,10 or 15 day plastering course, and then choose to do the 6 week City and Guilds 6218 - 05 Plastering course, Capital Goldtrowel will refund you the amount for your initial course.

Example: Cost of a 5 day plastering course taken off the total amount for the  City & Guilds Course = £1605 and still complete all 15 Units of accreditation.

Don’t forget you don’t have to do all 6 weeks at the same time, just let us know what dates are okay for you.

The 7 Mandatory Units are:

  • 016 - Repairing a patch in a plastered wall
  • 065 - Boarding and setting a ceiling in one coat
  • 066 - Applying a floating coat to wall and attached pier
  • 067 - Applying and finishing the setting coat to a floored wall and attached pier
  • 068 - Applying a floating coat to a square or rectangular column
  • 069 - Applying a floating finishing coat to a square or rectangular column
  • 070 - Scrim and skim finish with plaster

The 8 Optional Units are:

  • 017 - Screeding a sand and cement floor from a given level of datum point.
  • 018 - Introduction to fixing floor tiles and skirting tiles.
  • 071 - Applying a textured finish with border.
  • 072 - Re-plaster over textured ceiling using bonding agent.
  • 073 - Applying a plain rendering and finish with a wood float.
  • 074 - Applying a Tyrolean hand machine finish to a prepared wall.
  • 075 - Fixing bell cast bead and applying scratch coats to wall areas.
  • 076 - Applying pebble dash finish to a prepared wall.
