Stretched Ceiling Courses - Clipso Ceiling Courses

These Stetched Ceiling Courses are 2 Day Courses. We have devised a training programme with CLIPSO to offer the UK some very unique Ceiling and Wall systems that Interior Designers can only dream of.
Stretch ceiling courses using Clipso are the future of MF Systems. Stretch Ceiling Courses are for anyone wishing to learn Installing Clipso ceilings which forms a major part of drylining.

Lesson Plan Day 1

Welcome of all participants in our training room                   
  • Introduction of the training and its content
  • Introduction of the company and the Group                                        
  • Virtual visit by slideshow of CLIPSO: history, presence around the world, organization chart, figures
  • Introduction of our different products                  
  • All the CLIPSO products are fire rated and in accordance with the CE mark.  
  • The coverings: our different ranges and applications

  Preparation of your building site/ Area to be Covered

  • Presentation of the different steps for fitting: live demonstration on how to stretch the fabric. Different steps and recommendations: clean environment, clean clothes, gloves. Opening the packaging, checking the different numbers, identifying the visible face of the fabric. Positioning the covering in the tracking system, stretching it, closing, trimming and finishing.
  • Properties, main advantages of installing a stretch fabric (quickness, cleanness, low disturbance, cold-fitting system…), widths available, simplicity of ordering (extra margins to order, depending on the length)
  • Introduction of the training room and the basic recommended tools: spatula, mitre shear, level, fixing depending of the substrate.
  • Demonstration of installing a ceiling.

  Start of practical training:

  •   Handling of the tools, take of measures;
  •   Emphasis on some important points when working with CLIPSO products (working angle…);
  •   Different steps before starting the fitting of the fabric (unpacking, verification, of the merchandise);
  •   Installation in the plenum, installation of the profiles (walls and ceilings). 
  •   Installation of one or many fabrics in different set-ups with a participation of the interns
  •   Interior/exterior angles, curves, cuts for integration of lights and devices…
  •   Mural demonstration, connexion (double joint)

Lesson Plan Day 2

  •   Re -cap  of all the important points checked during the first day
TRAINING AREA:

Practical

  •   Customized practical works such as making a wall, a frame and other works depending on the different points seen previously.
  •   Research of finishes and detail. Work on the angles, cuts and specific cuts…
  •   Installation of lights, accesses, ventilation, AC
  •   Installation process in warm and humid places
  •   Important point regarding the stapling of the products: real exercise in a specific case
  •  Practical works and validation of the different points acquired by the intern with the trainer.
Classroom
  •   How to calculate an estimate. Covering, profiles, margins etc.
  • You have a project and want to ask for a price or even pass an order?
  • To fill the form, you will basically need the longest length and the longest width. If the ceiling is NOT square, make sure you have estimated the biggest dimensions.
  • You will need some margins to stretch the covering. Choose the width of the covering according to the size of your project (you can use the CLIPSO coverings in both ways*) to minimize your wastes.
  • CLIPSO recommends taking at least 100mm of margin per side, so 200mm per length.
  • For large projects: ceilings >7m + long, take an increased margin of 500mm; for ceiling >10m long, take 1000mm extra.
  • *NB: in the case of joining 2 fabrics together, make sure you specify it. Fabrics will have to be installed in the same way, and ideally be coming from the same production to avoid any colour difference.
  • Profiles needs are simply calculated with the perimeter + minimum 10%. Remember to check the corners you will have to do, the more you have the more losses you will be generating!


  Purchase orders (how to fill a purchase order)   

 Explanation of the tariffs

  • Price per square metre, linear metre, prices cut to measure, on rolls. One page per product category (standard coverings, specific coverings, design, profile, complements, tools…)
Presentation of the Design product (image library, order process).

How to sell CLIPSO:
  •   Selling arguments (based on provided sales leaflet and especially designed for the installation partners)
  •   Production costs and margin rates (comparable to others existing products on the market), profitability
  •   The obligations of Clipso's installation partners
  •   The Clipso's obligations towards the installation partners (samples, literature…)
  •   The technical assistance and accompaniment in the development and the activity of the installation partner
On Completion of Course 
  •  Going round the table for all the trainees and answers to any question regarding the training afternoon
  •   Presentation of Official CLIPSO folder to all students including Technical and Commercial documents & traiffs.
  •   Presentation of Certificates to finalize sucessful training

    The coverings: our different applications:

  •   Ceiling: the core business of our customers is the stretch ceiling area. However, the coverings can be stretched as other features, such as  Walls, same concept for  Frames, boxes, suspended ceilings… in which case we might use different profiles
